Hi I occasionally write things in Spanish, for which I need to write special non-English characters such as accented vowels. When I used to use Winblows it was simply a matter of holding down Alt and typing in the ASCII code preceded by a zero, this would work with most applications. Is there a similar keyboard shortcut that will work with any Linux apps, especially word-processing (e.g. OOo) or mail programs (Sylpheed)? I know it can be done with a character maps, but I find it much quicker to press a few keys than several clicks of the mouse-button. A search on Google only gives mays to do it with M$ products or using character maps. Any ideas? Cheers Tom Knight
