Cheers, Al, however here is no gcc package:

[root@nobby root]# apt-get install gcc
Reading Package Lists... Done
Collecting File Provides... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
E: Couldn't find package gcc
[root@nobby root]#

Do I need glibc-devel???
