Re: [Sheflug] KDE 3.1 On OpenBSD

And Lo! The Great Prophet " Netsonic" uttered these words of wisdom...

Good choice ;)

A full answer is going to have to wait 'til I get home and can poke around
more as I've no OBSD boxes here. Unless someone has created a port of KDE
(read up about the "ports" collection at http://www.openbsd.org/ports.html),
you're probably left with building KDE from source.

Congratulations :)

I've never built KDE from source so I don't know what's involved, but I
suspect it's a lengthy job. OpenBSD does however support running Linux
binaries (it may also support FreeBSD binaries, I can't remember), so you
could in theory mount your Linux partitions, and run KDE through that
method. The OpenBSD handboook (at www.openbsd.org) should have something
about binary compatibility.

A couple of things for you to look into for now. As I said, I'll do more
digging when I get home.

Chris...
