Some of those surge protected 4-bar mains sockets have an in and out for telephony equipment. They might have UK phone sockets rather than the american style used by the ADSL equipmenet, but a pair of standard modem leads would probably link everything up OK. Bardwell Electronics on London Road or Maplin probably have what you want.

If you want to get more fancy and protect your PCs against power failure, some uniterruptible power supplies have telephony protection too.


that I don't have to keep switching the router off/on and all the
corresponding reboots required for the 3 computers we have a home, to get a
connection up again.
Do you really have to reboot your computers just because the router momentarily vanished? I have a mixture of linux, win 98 and win XP here and don't have that problem. The odd application (eg Eudora) locks up if the router goes down while it's transferring data but only needs closing with ctrl-alt-del.
