Hmm..

In Yast on SuSE 8.2 using CUPS I have many different printers installed for
the same print device (using MS terminology I am afraid) and each one has a
different setting such as photo_colour, draft_grayscale, draft_colour etc...
When I want to print I can just select the required printer and I get the
predetermined output.

In fact when I installed the colour printer the Yast printer setup
automatically created loads of different printers for greyscale, photo etc
and I only had to tweak them a little for the settings that I wanted.

I also know that there is an option for the number of pages per sheet and also
if you want a header page with the users name and filename etc. You can also
print multipages per sheet by using programs such as OpenOffice.

Hope that helps a bit.

James
