That's virtually what I did when I had a similar task last year. Fortunately,
the Access database wasn't too complex (just a few (large) tables, and no
'relationships'), so exporting from Access as TAB-separated files, then
importing to MySQL using LOAD DATA worked a treat. I did need to manually
clean-up the TSV file, which contained some excess TABs and other oddities
which seemed to upset MySQL.
