Hi Robert

If you have installed libphoto from a tarball, the lib* files would normally 
go in either /usr/lib or /usr/local/lib.
Trying to install an rpm on top of this will fail because the rpm database 
does not know that libphoto has been installed from a tarball.. the solution 
in this case is to tell rpm to ignore any dependencies with :-

 rpm -ivh --nodeps digikam.rpm

This may still not work if the libphoto version required is not the same as 
the one extracted from the tarball.
