RE: [Sheflug] Postfix setup

> What is in your /etc/postfix/access ?

I thought that this might be the problem. All the lines in the access file
are commented. From what I read the access/deny list was in the main.cf
file. Anyway I've added the lines as suggested, run postmap access
(access.db has been updated), done a postfix check and reload and it still
doesn't work.

On the telnet side of it I've checked in YAST and when looking at the
services I clicked the edit button for the telnet server service and it
prompted me with an installation type prompt and wanted the CD (which is at
home, doh!) which to me means that the telnet server service may not be
installed! Would this explain the inability to telnet to the box? Could
this effect the SMTP server connection?

The firewall should now be uninstalled

I noticed yesterday when running the ps-ef |grep etc that the user for the
postfix processes was a user called postfix. I didn't create this user. Is
there anything for this user that shold be set that I could check (group
membership, permissions etc?).

All the above has been checked/changed, reload and still no luck.
Just found out that...
The inet_interfaces is set in two places! One was not set to all!

Now I get a connection to the server but I get a different error regarding
one of the recipients not being accepted.

Got the following email through from the server
"Postfix SMTP server: errors from unknown[192.168.100.168]
Transcript of session follows.

 Out: 220 linux.local ESMTP Postfix

So at least the error reporting is working OK.
Thanks for your help so far. Any new offers still welcome!
