[Sheflug] Hand Holding
Hi,
I am looking for a bit of hand holding as I get my email encryption working.
I am using Kmail and seem to have the security configuration set correctly.
However when I try to decrypt an incoming message it tells me "could not be
decrypted no passphase"
I have just found some info that says that the problem lies with the gpg-agent
not running. To get this up and running I need extend my X start-up as
follows
eval $(gpg-agent --daemon)
startkde
killall gpg-agent
It would seem that my X start-up is ~/.xinitrc or ~/.xsession
I have had a lookin in both files and .xinitrc states that it contains the X
start-up. It all so contains a line at the end that says 'Add your own lines
here...'
What I really want to know, as someone who has not done this sort of thing
before is:
A. Is .xinitrc the file I extend?
B. Do I replace 'add your own lines' with the extension or insert it the
extension after this?
C. Am I likely to do any real damage doing this....
