Eeks. Your alter ego has been looking to see what there is in the CAD
market only a couple of days ago. The most promising looks like Qcad
(http://www.ribbonsoft.com/qcad.html).  This only does 2-D visulisation;
it's not a 3-D CAD package.

All versions of QCad are free and GPL'd, however to get QCad 2.x in binary
form, you need to pay over a little cash (about $30 => £20 or so, then
there's a sliding upwards scale if you want other bits). The source is
freely downloadable if you want to attack from that front :)

Alternatively, QCad 1.x is still available, with binary and source
packages and tarballs.

Not sure what there is in the 3-D market; not a lot that I can see, but
I'll probably seek again this eve.

Chris...
