Hi,

New to the list, although I have been thinking of looking for a local 
Linux user group for a while now. I live in Sheffield and have just 
started a PhD in the Physics department at the University of Sheffield. 
I have been using Linux/Unix to a greater or lesser extent for about 5 
years now.

One thing I did notice on your site is that you have no link to Gentoo - 
www.gentoo.org. I discovered this distro about a year ago after becoming 
dissatisfied with Red Hat/Mandrake and not really being very taken with 
any of the other distros I had tried. I nearly settled on slackware but 
then a friend recommended Gentoo. It is a source based distro with an 
amazing package management system called Portage.

Anyway I think it would be nice if you linked to them as a distro. I do 
think they rival many of the other distributions you have listed and 
provide a great level of control over your system without forcing you to 
be quite as sadistic as using something like Linux from scratch!

Anyway, I just thought I would quickly introduce myself and suggest you 
added Gentoo to your already extensive list of distros :)
