Re: [Sheflug] SSH2 keys an Putty

This may sound a bit off topic..........................
I am trying to find out how to configure Putty for windows to use ssh2
keys to authenticate against a Suse 8.1 box.
I have sorted out how to do it linux to linux, and can now use scp to
copy our backup files arround.
I now need to look at doing the same thing from a windows NT box, I have
followed the various instructions found
on google, but can only get to the stage where I get "Key is of wrong
type (Putty SSH2 private Key)"
I have generated a ssh2 RSA 1024 bit key, with no passphrase, added the
public key to /root/.ssh2/authorisedhosts2,
and then specified the coresponding private key when I attemt to connect
with putty.
What am I doing wrong?
Did you generate the key with the Putty KeyGen or under Un*x? I had
problems with a standard Un*x key, but the Putty Keygen one works fine,
I'm currently using them quite happily on a few BSD boxen and a couple
of Linux ones.
