Re: [Sheflug] mailbox format

Hi Guys

Does anyone know how to change the format of a mailbox?

My mail on my RH 8.0 system is stored in /var/spool/mail/gareth. When I
use mutt to read my mail from the shell, it complains about something not
existing in /home/gareth.

I am using SquirrelMail to check my email, and think the problems I'm
having are to do with imapd not liking the location of my mailbox, maybe
its in the wrong format... okay, I'm just guessing here.

A friend said I need to use mbox instead of maildir - does this mean
anything to anyone?
Nope, you need to tell mutt where your mail lives. Have a look at your output from env, to see where it is set.

-su-2.05b# env | egrep MAIL
MAIL=/var/mail/root

You can change that in your .profile or .bash_profile or wherever.

Short-term, just run: mutt -f /var/spool/mail/gareth/Maildir/

Jonathan
