On a server that I use for storing backups we are
starting to notice strange behavior.
as root running mail gave a /tmp full
error!
So, I deleted a few game rpms etc and things are
now ok (at least mail works).
However
suse-backup:/tmp #
df
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on /dev/hda3 1909088 1895072 14016 100% / /dev/hda1 19487 4668 13813 26% /boot /dev/backup/backup 160742608 148085508 12657100 93% /backup shmfs 63304 0 63304 0% /dev/shm does not look good. how do I free up space on
/?
can I just delete everything in /tmp?
The data stored on the machine is in /backup which
is on a LVM drive array of two 80Gb drives. the boot drive
is a 2Gb drive. The boot drive seems to have
filled up, but I don`t know what with!
I am using samba and scp to move the files on
and off the machine.
Any suggestions?
(The box is running a stock install of Suse
8.1)
