Try

mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /mnt/flash

You'll have to create the flash directory in /mnt and possibly be su. If
you want your user to access the flash, then change the ownership of
/dev/sda1 (if this is the correct device on your distro) to root.disk
then make your user a member of disk and make sure disk group members
have rw access to /dev/sda1.
