[Sheflug] Cautionary Tale
On Saturday, with a lot of typing for a grant application, I purchased a new
keyboard and mouse (cordless optical by logitech). I installed on to a usb
port (both mouse and keyboard work off one), machine booted up went into
linux no problems. Then I thought I had better install software on w2k,
rebooted, lilo wouldn't respond to keyboard!!
Do not use USB for keyboards on dual boot machines, as computer hasn't a
clue what is attached until the device driver is loaded.
But it all works on PS2 (except up arrow - strange only in linux (w2k OK)
but number pad works and it is a nice keyboard)
I spent a long time figuring it out, I know the answer was as plain as the
large bruise on my forehead(from headbutting the desk repeatedly whilst
giggling hysterically) but I am a pratt sometimes!!!!
