Or you could ask the customer to upload a small file called complete AFTER
the large file is uploaded and your script checks for the presence of this
small file then doesn't do anything until it exists.  Once the processing is
complete the "completed" tag file is deleted ready for the next session.

I already set the config with crond launching mirroring process (moving files with last modified date > 2 min).
It 's running rather smooth from last night and I am generally happy with results.
Any approach potentially involving customer intervention was
not acceptable. This service need to be running
27/7 without any additional effort from the customer's side.
I personally would be interesting in cracking parsing ftp log files, but
simply don't have time to do it right now.
