[Sheflug] USB Webcams

Anyone had got anywhere with the "cheap n nasty" webcams that are available
at the moment?

Just got hold of a Trust 120 Spacecam, 14 quid from Maplin, which works
perfectly in windoze,
and although I thought I have checked for video 4 Linux drivers it looks
like that's for an older trust model.

So the two queries are,

a) anyone got any ideas how to make such camera`s work before I bin it. (I
was hoping to use it as a test source
for video capture etc and poss as a cctv camera)

b) any ideas of any cheep web cams that are known to work?
