Still having problems, floppy disk idea failed so did booting from the
cd in rescue mode. But then I had an idea, why not boot from one of these all
in one cd versions? I have tried
topologilinux (slackware based if I remember) in the past, but would love some
recommendations I can d/l at work and then I have an effective emergency boot disk. I eventually got round the problem by deliberately crashing my machine
(ouch could have been dangerous but worked), but the above would be a much
better solution It would also give me a chance to play with the new kernel release in
debian or gentoo what do you all think??? Steve |
