[Sheflug] setting the default keyboard under debian

	I'm having problems making my system use gb as the keyboard. If I alter the
Xconfig file from the ro setting for the keyboard, to gb, when I reboot, it's
back to ro layout again.
	If in a terminal (ALT-F1 etc) I type
LANG=gb
LANGUAGE=gb
LC_ALL=gb
export LANG LANGUAGE LC_ALL
Then run the script
install-keymap uk.kmap
	I get the correct gb keymap in the terminal but not in Xconsole and again the
terminal keyboard reverts to ro keymap when I reboot.
	I've found a symlink in /etc/console that points to ro.kmap. If I alter that
to point to uk.kmap, that again alters back to ro.kmap on reboot.
	How do I set the system to use gb keyboard by default and stop it overwriting
all my editing?
