Why not build a box that has four stereo input jacks and one output. 
Then have a selector switch to select the different inputs across to the
output.

It would provide a manual selection of which PC gets to use the speakers and
each PC 
can have its own sound levels set within the OS.

I am sure Maplins could chuck the bits together to build this for a few
pounds.
