Is this actually true? Are the government really planning on taxing free
software? They can obviously charge VAT on any product which is sold in
the UK, but surely you can't charge tax on something which is actually
free? How would they work out how much to charge?
If this happens it will act to the detriment of all open source take up
and possibly even development in the UK. Does anyone else have any more
details than the ones presented on this web site? I would certainly hate
to see this happen to the UK, and will certainly be contacting my MP
about this. Does anyone else have any similar plans?
