For raid cards it's pretty good. The card you're pointing at isn't a
raid card, however, it's just dual channel.

It seems likely to be supported, but I wouldn't buy it unless you're
comfortable with recompiling your kernel. Ditto any other SATA; you're
dicing with support at best.
What's wrong with PATA?
