The gnome display manager is very nice for an ltsp environment, and
"knows" about remote XDMCP connections. When the login manager (gdm)
makes a remote connection to the server, the user is not presented with
shutdown or reboot options. We've also built a custom gdm theme could be
configured for your site and which implements these features.
