Re: [Sheflug] php and mysql
Best books I have found are:
PHP and MySQL Web Development - Luke Welling and Laura Thompson
PHP and MySQL for dummies
can be had on amazon for £35ish for both, very good books for beginners
and more advanced stuff
And you cant beat having a copy of the php manual handy either..

Anybody suggest a good read reference for starting PHP and mysql based
websites? I've got some pretty basic stuff to do (reading table entries
from a table, creating new entries from forms based pages etc.) I've got to
a point where the scripts I'm downloading are OK but some need tweaking and
my trial and error copy and paste technique leaves lots to be desired. I'm
learning but not as quick as I'd like to be.
I've seen a couple called PHP Anthology vol I and II from sitepoint.com but
I've never heard of the publisher and the books don't seem to be on amazon
either (and I'm not keen on sending visa details through to an unknown
organisation).
