[Sheflug] RedHat doesn't want to route - help!!
Hi All,
I am pretty much frustrated with what seemed to be
a simple task originally.
I need to set Redhat (RHEL 3 ES) with two NICs as an internet gate.
External eth1:
/etc/sysconfig/networking/devices/ifcfg-eth1
NETMASK=255.255.255.248
DEVICE=eth1
ONBOOT=yes
BOOTPROTO=none
IPADDR=82.211.117.90
HWADDR=00:C0:9F:3E:74:5D
USERCTL=no
PEERDNS=no
TYPE=Ethernet
Internal eth0:
/etc/sysconfig/networking/devices/ifcfg-eth0:
DEVICE=eth0
ONBOOT=yes
IPADDR=192.168.1.1
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
BROADCAST=192.168.1.255
NETWORK=192.168.1.0
BOOTPROTO=none
HWADDR=00:C0:9F:3E:74:5C
USERCTL=no
PEERDNS=no
TYPE=Ethernet
/etc/sysconfig/network:
NETWORKING=yes
HOSTNAME=pluto.nikitin.me.uk
GATEWAY=82.211.117.89
GATEWAYDEV=eth1
In /etc/sysctl.conf
net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1
When logged in to gate itself - everything is fine:
all exernal sites are available as well as all internal
worstations are ping-ed ok.
Workstations (on internal network) can see the gate,
but cannot see anything else. Kind of useless gate.
Any help is very much appreciated, as I am stuck compeletely.
Thanks in advance,
Denis.
