i was up until very recently a slack user, in fact one of my box's is still running slack 8.0. its a great distro, and if you don't mind the ./configure; make; make install dance then you should be good.

i did like the way the files were laid out and i do miss that, i like the bsd style init scripts, much prefer them to the mess of symbolic links that others have......

p.s. moved on to debian now.
