That's got to be about the worst designed site I have seen in a long long time. (Opera 7.54 on Suse Linux 8.2)

It looks like something out of 1996 - retro?!

Fortunately they don't list web design courses :-)

It's absolutely disgusting, quite frankly. I am outraged !! ;-)

Given there are so many people out there who can design web sites (including unemployed little old me) and give a very professional look to such a simple site layout I actually think it is really appalling that they have issued a url for a site that doesn't display well in Opera 7.54 or Mozilla 1.6 . I haven't a clue yet what it looks like under IE or on a Mac but given they have a MS certified personage on board I am sure the lack of a DTD, title and properly defined frameset well ... what can I say .... perhaps IE thinks it's wonderful and no doubt we are missing out on loads of glorious things not being IE users.

I am sure they have a lot on organising and running the courses but this site doesn't display properly in what I at least regard at two main browsers used on Linux machines. And they are supposed to be running Linux courses! And they call themselves the Linux Professional Institute!

*sigh*

And in case anyone wonders what is *so* important about titles here's what the HTML 4.01 spec (http://www.w3.org/TR/1999/REC-html401-19991224) says

"Every HTML document must have a TITLE element in the HEAD section."

And of course new sites should really be done in xhtml and not html these days.

But then who's bothered about accessibility and standards... after all winprinters and winmodems never gave us any grief so what's the problem with someone saying they are the *Linux* *Professional* Institute and dishing up poorly designed ill thought out stuff like that.
