That's got to be about the worst designed site I have seen in a long long

There are many more which are much worse. Or, never judge a book by it's cover :)

The courses that are offered aren't too bad. Worth going to. You can pay a lot more elsewhere. The LPI101 course they did some months ago had a good course tutor who was from www.lmu.ac.uk.
No disrespect intended here at all, Richard, but I have to disagree with this attitude.

I am sure there are many sites that are just as bad out there. The fact they exist doesn't justify another one. I do think it is about the worst I have seen at a professional level.

The web presence of a training company that purports to train people to a professional level in Linux but provides a web site that doesn't adhere to any standards, doesn't even carry a DTD to decide what standard it is trying to meet, contains poorly formed html etc etc ... and is unreadable in two browsers, frequently used by people using Linux ....
Well my reaction would be I am not going to shell out for a course there on the basis that if they can't get the web site right how can I trust the content of their courses. That is what I would react to.

I am sure that I am not the only person who thinks like that.

It isn't as if there aren't a few people on this list who could design and write that site properly in adherence with current standards and readable across many platforms and browsers.

I fully support the idea of there being Linux training opportunities for people in Sheffield and I am really pleased to see it happening but I do think this is a very poor presentation at a professional level. Ok for schoolkids to produce this stuff but not what I would expect if I were a boss with a youngster trying to persuade me to pay for him/her to go on a course provided by LPI.

I am not saying their course content is no good. I have no experience of it to be able to judge that and I don't know the people involved at any level. I am saying they have failed to give a good presentation of themselves on the web, and that, while they are quite rightly focusing on what their business really is, i.e. training people, they have ignored one rule of professionalism which is to recognise one's limits.

And would you please note my name is 'Lesley' and not 'Leslie'.
I am neither Scottish nor male!

:)

Lesley
