Is installing/configuring Linux getting you down?

I came across the above whilst googling for info on ipp 
printers in an attempt to find some way of blocking the 
forest of other people's printers which was making it 
difficult to see the 2 trees that my group wants.  
(Basically on a large network organized the way 
the University does it, combined with the way CUPS works, 
the only option is for every user to have to click 'hide' 
for all the unwanted printers or turn off the auto search 
altogether.  What I'd like is to be able to filter the 
search based on part of the printer name or to only see 
ones listed in the NIS files.)
