[Sheflug] anybody got mysql running on a recent version of Debian?

Admittedly I'm pretty new to Debian (well to any install that doesn't
involve YAST!) but I've downloaded a 100MB Debian ISO and run an "over the
network" install from there. I tried

apt-get install mysql

but it says that that "it is not available but is referred to".

There is a /etc/mysql directory with a conf file but no mention on mysqld
anywhere (using locate).

Any hints on how to get it installed on this PC appreciated. Its a P100
with 64 MB ram and no x windows and I've not done any compiling from source
before so I'd prefer not to have to wait ages to find out I've made a mess.
I'm not aversed to using a different distro but I want to keep it as simple
as possible.

Thanks
