Should work but haven't tried it with the 3.4 version. The 3.6 version 
is slightly better then the 3.4 version that I tried.

Shouldn't be any problems.  I did that a few weeks ago.  If you really 
want Debian you might try the new graphical Debian Sarge installer.  
Mine worked fine twice.

Although, Knoppix and Ubuntu might be easier if you are a first time 
user.
