"With the availability of high speed Internet access
and low cost recording equipment, Internet distributed
radio shows are becoming more viable. Combined with
the huge take-up in personal publishing via Weblogs,
Internet radio is entering into an exciting time in
which new technological challenges can be faced in a
more dynamic medium.
In this presentation, Jono Bacon (one of the founders
of the premier Linux and Open Source Internet radio
show, LUGRadio (www.lugradio.org)) will share his
thoughts and experience on how to create a radio show
and the variety of technical and editorial challenges
that he has faced alongside his co-presenters. As
an entirely volunteer funded show, LUGRadio has proven
to be an interesting case study in how a community can
be created and pull together to keep a radio show
ticking over and servicing the community that supports
it."
