[Sheflug] Suse 9.2 ignoring default route in routing table

Hi

I have been playing around with a home network and quite possibly 
managed to get SuSE into a bit of a muddle.

The SuSE box has one NIC and I was changing it's IP address and the 
default route.  At one stage I changed the IP address in YAST and then 
configured the default route via a 'route add default gw x.x.x.x' command.

ifconfig -a showed the new IP address and the new IP address was in the 
routing table as the default route.  However I couldn't even ping it 
successfully.

The default IP address listed in YAST was the other IP address I was 
using during this experiment.

It appeared to me SuSE was ignoring the card configuration and the 
default route in the routing table.

Anyoen else had this happen or care to comment?
