Subject: [Sheflug] Vi

Could someone tell me what VI stands for, or means? It's a command I've

typed many times and only just realised I don't know why it's called

what it is. I know VIM is Vi Improved, but clueless to the original meaning.

Could someone enlighten me?

Hi dsas! My name is Zoe and I am new to this group.

I've never used it but I believe I might know the answer to this.

'Vi' (pronounced 'vee eye' just means 'visual'.

It is the long established short form for 'Visual Editor the original UNIX
editor'.

I hope this helps. :)

Hi to everyone! :)

Zoe.
