We've got three VMWare boxes running "commercially". Our development and
test database servers and our production web server all run under
VMWare. The first two are hosted on SuSE Linux 9.2, the latter on W2k
(all NT4 guest OS's for reasons I'd rather not go in to as they're
verging on the off-topic!).
We moved out test database server last week, but the development box has
been in that configuration for several months now and has been rock
solid. It's quite a flexible solution because I can shift files around
between NT-space and Linux-space using VMWare shared folders (I know
there are other methods, but this works in our environment).
I'm going to try and get on Saturday if family and other commitments
permit.
