[Sheflug] Networking Question
Hi all,
I have a question for the networking sages.
I want to upgrade the network here at home to make full use of the gigabit
network interfaces in all of the machines we have. Currently we have a KCorp
10/100 wireless router, which is flaky to say the least, and its speed is
uninspiring, whether wired or wireless.
I know gigabit won't make a difference on the broadband side of things, but
as we do a lot of networking internally, it would benefit us a great deal.
My question is this:
Is there any difference to using gigabit connections in linux, compared to
10/100, and does anybody know of any decent gigabit broadband routers ?
The only ones I found from searching the net are the DLink Gaming router
(which has gigabit ports) and a Netgear model, which has absolutely terrible
reviews.
I know i can add a gigabit switch to the existing router and do it that way,
but i would prefer to have an all in one unit if possible.
Regards,
Steve.
