How many /dev/sd* devices show up when you plug it in?

Hi,
I didn't think my cheap (unknown brand) multi card reader worked with
linux when I was running Redhat and Fedora. However, I am now running
Suse 10.0 and when I was playing I set it to show mounted for various
things, like cdrom etc. Lo and behold when I plugged in my card it
showed up and so does my mp3 thingy. So I presume they worked before
with Redhat and Fedora I just couldn't see they were there.

Regards

Janet
