We have one of these in work, I have sometimes used it for messing
around with when i needed a lot of umph in a machine (2 dual cores in
it) I must admit, I have never booted it off floppy, it might not even
have a drive in it. Ours is very old, we got it on loan when amd first
announced the duelcore stuff, so no idea what bios it has.
Possibly it's a case of what ever code is on the floppy not being able
to cope with the system setup (the memory, processors etc)? I have seen
that before when booting an old version of dos (for bios flashing), the
system locked up hard when it started to load all the horrid dos memory
drivers. We ended up pulling the ram and cpus to get the machine down to
1cpu and 1gig of ram, that was with an amd machine, but not this
motherboard.
