I did see this happening in OpenSuSE 10.1.  Along with long 
complaining e-mails on the SuSE security list and other SuSE lists 
along with comments about moving over to Debian Sarge or Fedora to 
get rid of the problems caused by SuSE/Novell.  But, my own SuSE 10.2 
installation is working fine.

However, as a precaution I switched to smart and apt4rpm for updates 
and software installation.  Life has become so much easier to live 
since I did that.  Only takes about two minutes of my life instead of 
30 minutes or more.
