[Sheflug] Linux on Alpha's

Hi..

What do people know about running/installing linux on old DEC Alphas?

I have a "source" of several DEC Multia's
(http://www.obsolyte.com/dec/multia/) sitting in my office at work,
sadly they currently lack the horrid 36bit 72pin simms needed but we're
working on that.

These version have the SCSI controller in them, but no floppy drives and
a 2.5inch laptop HD (Maybe SCSI maybe IDE... who knows until I can boot
one).

My thinking was with a native supported linux wireless card in the
PCMCIA slot and a 100Mbit netowrk card in the PCI and the 10Mbit hooked
to an adsl or cable model it would make a fun toy to use as a
router/firewall.

There are also tales of other several tower case based alphas sitting
under the stairs at work as well... they will have to wait until my
weeks holiday is over.
