I'm just hoping they fix the Ulley dam before the weekend's weather
arrives. Has a power station in its path if it does go.

Otherwise fine here, high enough and far enough away from the Don
although the Jervis Lum has been running through. Much sweeping of
water out of garage.

Wicker was a bit of a mud bath yesterday with lots of businesses
cleaning up as best they are able but most basically out of action.
Postie said it's chaos at work with Brightside sorting office out.
Rolling power cuts in some postcodes while they fix the electrics and I
heard a road had collapsed out Hillsborough way yesterday. See
http://www.bbc.co.uk/southyorkshire for more info.

Although things are tough here for many and not forgetting we lost two
local people to the floods, a boy at Millhouses and a 68 year old man at
the Wicker, I think we aren't having it as bad as some. Pakistan lost
200 people in a storm in Karachi and 17 in a cyclone with 250,000 now
homeless. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/6247884.stm)
