I used fasthosts for a short time some years ago and they were terrible
then (bad attitude about customer service, refusal to explain why things
weren't working, tiny text boxes on the webforms, threatening to cut off
my services because I complained by e-mail).

I used Black Cat Networks for several years for domain registration,
hosting and a shell account, and they were absolutely excellent.  But a
few months ago they decided to close.  They sold their colocation and
some other services to RapidSwitch (www.rapidswitch.com) and then the
services that I use to Mythic Beasts (www.mythic-beasts.com).

In the limited time I've dealt with Mythic Beasts they've fairly
seamlessly handled the transfer and seem good.
