[Sheflug] Tesco computer??? in home service

Hi Everyone,

Rather shocked by the price of this computer, £139 and £189. Does
anyone have any thoughts about it? Am I right in thinking it is not
internet ready?
http://direct.tesco.com/q/N.1999034/Nr.99.aspx?Ns=P_SORT_Price&btnResultSort.x=501&btnResultSort.y=419

I was considering it for the children, however virtually all their games
/educational programs are windows based and they cannot do without. I'm
already running Linux so........

Could I buy it and then load Windows onto it? What am I saying, I
suppose you'll be 'round to burn me at the stake in the morning:)

Also before that happens, my mother is going to buy a new computer.
Although this is probably not possible she is more incapable than me. I
think what she needs is to buy the computer and someone come and set it
up for her. Then when it goes wrong she can talk on the telephone or
they can come out and have a look at it.

Does that sound expensive? I know with PC World if something goes wrong
you have to bring it back and stand in line. She not not going to
beable to do that. Would she be better off with a local small company?
I am of no use being 150 miles up the road without a car.

Regards

Janet
