Re: [Sheflug] Netbooks: who's got on, and how has it been?

Marc seems to be sending from an address that is not subscribed to the
list. So, Mailman ate his mail. Here it is after I accidentally
discovered it ........

I am guessing its probably the same sort kit that we use here at
Manchester Uni use, they specify the Cisco horrid client for linux,
but I got it working with the vpnc client.

The only thing needed was to "decompile" the secret password in the
cisco clients config file into one for the vpnc client.
http://www.unix-ag.uni-kl.de/~massar/bin/cisco-decode decoded our one
for me.

My config file for this is

IKE DH Group dh2
IPSec gateway <your uni gateway>
IPSec ID linux
IPSec secret <secret decoded from above website>
Xauth username <your username>
Application version Cisco Systems VPN Client 3.7.3 (A):Linux

I am not sure if the application bit is important, but i added it
after seeing some website.

> I hope that helps, since I must say it didn't work for me at all :P

I only used it once, about a year ago. So could well not work with
newer cisco stuff...
