While we're on the subject of this, perhaps someone has a solution for a 
related problem?
Running latest firefox I think (3.0.4) on Ubuntu Hardy Heron, every so 
often I get a problem where firefox refuses to open, no error messages 
anywhere even when I open from the command line. Just nothing happens. 
There appears to be no firefox process running (I've tried the "ps -aux 
| egrep firefox" etc route to no avail). But presumably something is 
running somewhere in the background from a previous session. Only 
technique I have found which solves it is to reboot. Any ideas? It 
happens sporadically and I just can't see a reason for it.
