Re: [Sheflug] Barcamp Sheffield update

Well I was being rather tongue-in-cheek :) QT Extended is actually
running fine here. I've disabled suspend due to the
sometimes-not-waking-up issue, so don't encounter that anymore. That
reduces the battery life, but it's still OK if it gets charged every
night.

Been using QT Extended for a few weeks now, so my contacts, documents
and message history are getting to useful sizes. FDOM/OM08 is OK, but
I didn't like the slightly disjointed feel of the system. The main
interface is written with the Enlightenment ToolKit, there are some
GTK apps left over from OM07 and the gaps are filled in with QT
Extended. Since the most useful programs to me are the contacts,
calendar, SMS, dialler, etc. and they're the QT Extended versions, I
just went ahead and switched to QT Extended for the whole thing, which
makes it feel much more coherent :)

I would say that whilst the software may be in a state of flux, the
hardware is complete and functioning, and that's the bit which costs
the money.

Thanks,
Chris

PS: Sorry for the off-topicness :)
