I've found a similar thing. I think that Google must receive gmail and 
googlemail emails, merging the accounts, but when it sends emails they come 
out of the googlemail address. If the googlemail address isn't registered for 
posting then it'll bounce, even though the lists messages can be received 
through a gmail address.
