Re: [Sheflug] For People with Google Mail Addresses

The problem is with people who _have_ @googlemail accounts but sign up
with @gmail on the sign up page.
They get the confirmation and all works until they try and _send_ a
mail to the list. It appears (to mailman) as if the mail is coming
from @googlemail.com when the user subscribed as @gmail.com, thus
mailman bounces the mail and notifies the admin.
Well summarised. It may well be possible to create an @gmail.com
identity for googlemail users, but as my account is old and I was always
well aware of the issues involved, this has never been an issue for me
as I was on many mailing lists using gmail until I got annoyed by their
IMAP being unacceptably slow and moved to a self hosted solution.
I've never had problems being filtered as spam by spoofing my address. I
used to get gmail SMTP to to send my list messages as though they came
from the forwarder [personalwebsite at army dot com] part of the
fanmail.com network and subscribed to many google groups and mailman
lists with that address, with no problems.
