It's better than nowt :)  If you think about it there was just nothing 
out there when I started working on free software and open source 
software back in the 90's.  Just me and RMS and a few other people who 
were seen as a bunch of eccentrics who needed to go and talk to the 
doctor a lot more.  Not that any of us needed to go and talk to a 
doctor anyway.

Times have changes. We now produce magazines for a large and 
interested community.  Google and YouTube have endless videos about 
GNU/Linux and free software.  There are hundreds of international 
trade shows out there based on GNU/Linux alone.  I remember when the 
ShefLUG list and ManLUG lists and WyLUG were just about the only 
resource we had for help with GNU/Linux.  Now you can just go and find 
something somewhere.

Yes.  Any excuse to get people interested.
